Well we started out at a good pace, but the frequency of our writing has dropped off. We'll try to improve on that next year. But let's take a quick moment to look back at the highlights from 2009 before the clock strikes midnight. Which, by the way, will be well after we've gone to bed.
Off the top of my head I'd say the best thing to come with this past year is Jack's continued development. Knock on wood, but he's been healthy just most of the year and no longer seems to be "sickly." Along with that, he has been going to school (so young) and is making progress there as well. Even if the days are a bit too long for him.
Lucas continues to marvel. The kid is just as bright as they come and a complete joy. If only he and his brother could both be in a good mood at the same time more often. As usual though, brothers will bother each other - which causes headaches for their parents.
We got out and about a bit this year. Most notably, Kim managed her first trip without a child in, well, ever. The boys and I "bach'd it" for a few days while she explored Alasaka. I ditched the family and visited Washington D.C. for a Sounders' game. What a blast! As a group we went to Vancouver for a fireworks celebration and made numerous day trips to Seattle.
This coming year we plan/hope to continue travelling. Kim's high school reunion takes place in the summer and we had hoped to go but she will be teaching and can't skip class. Instead she intends to go to New Mexico after the quarter. The idea is for her and Jack to fly while Lucas and I drive. Let's hope that works out. We also have tickets for the Olympics, so we'll be visting Vancouver again.
