This past Saturday we finally got around to actually building it. More precisely, Sean built it. In just one day. Clearly we helped very little. It is a fantastic addition, if for no other reason than the boys no longer have to risk their necks climbing up on a wood pile to spy over the fence. Now they can just open the gate to see if the girls are outside.
The kids spend so much time with each other that they are completely at home in either house. So much so that the day it was built Jack didn't want to stop playing with the girls. When they had to go in for a bath he joined the two of them. Their dad thought it was pretty funny, as did Kim. She especially enjoyed telling me that such an adventure was not going to happen in this lifetime. I may have to start hoping for re-incarnation.
Baths aside, we now seem to have the house where the neighborhood kids will hang out, which is something Kim had wanted. But it's not just the kids, the dogs have free roam of two yards now. Though our boring dogs tend to stay mostly in our yard. The Clark's dog, Ruby (who is just here temporarily), on the other hand has basically moved into our house. I guess she normally lives with Tamar's parents but they are on vacation, and a way she is as well. I expect to see her dragging her dog bed over at any minute. The funny thing is, she fits in perfectly.
